Have Tightness In My Chest, Radiating Up To My Jaw. I Exercise Daily Took Metformin. Low Sugar Level. Stopped Metformin. Suggestions?

I have tightness in my chest occasionally, often radiating up to my jaw. Very uncomfortable. I exercise daily, and am in good health. I am about 25 pounds overweight, and took metformin for diabetes 8 years ago. I lost weight and my blood sugar levels are normal now so I no longer take metformin. I see my doctor annually for a physical. Should I be concerned about these symptoms?

Hello,
Tightness in chest along with radiation of pain to jaw in an overweight known diabetic is definitely something which should not be ignored.
You must consult a cardiologist and get yourself evaluated properly.
Uncontrolled diabetics have much more increased chances of cardiovascular complications as compared to non diabetics.
Get yourself checked up thoroughly.
Get your blood sugar levels ,blood pressuure and serum cholesterol levels checked up along with eye examination and kidney function tests.
Make sure that your parameters are in tight control always.
Thanks
