Have Total Colectomy And Rectal Anatomosis And Splenectomise. Given Pencilinfor Missing Spleen. Is Sweats Normal Part Of Recovery?
Hi my husband had a total colectomy ileo rectal anatomosis and splenectomy 3-1-13, scar fine drain site fine pain bareable watery stool still but has started clammy cold sweats with no high temp 34.2 , been giving him diarolyte twice today drinking plenty of fluids tea juice water etc so why the sweats? He s been put on penicillin 2daily because of missing spleen, could he still have an infection or are the sweats normal part of recovery process thanks for your advise

Thanks for your query.Based on the fact that you have posted .It appears that your husband has undergone IlioRectal anastomosis and colectomy .Since he is getting loose watery motions frequently, possibility of he getting dehydration can not be ruled out. His sweating may be due to dehydration leading to hypotension. Is he passing sufficient quantity of Urine?Please consult Physician or treating Dr for clinical evaluation and treatment.
