Have Type 2 Diabetes. Took Treatment. What Diet Should Be Followed To Lose Weight And Get Off Medication?

I am struggling with a weight maintenance on American food, everything is either sweet or fat laden, especially here in Utah. I came from South Africa and have never had this problem before eating the food here. I still eat mainly protein, fish or chick, with a lot of salads, vegs, and fruit. I have been diagnosed and I am receiving treatment for Type 2 Diabetes (not genetic) but would like to get off the medication and lose at least 30 lbs.

Hello,

In the management of type II DIABETES life style modification(diet and exercise) and medication should go hand in hand.
Without either one you will not be able to control your blood sugar.
If your not able to diet properly than follow calorie count.
Just keep it simple(25 calories/kg/day) or 1800 to 2000 calorie/day.
45 mins of exercise per day. This will help you to lose 2 to 3 kgs/months.
