Have Vaginal Dryness, Was On Diane, Now On Yasmin. Have Low Sexual Interest. Suggest?

Hi, I was wondering about vaginal dryness. I'm 18, and from 15-17 I was on Diane 35. That didn't seem to bother my vaginal area at all. Now I'm on Yasmin, and my partner of 2 years and I are unable to have sex sometimes because my mind is in the mood, but my body wont follow suite! What do I do! How can I fix this issue?!

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Reduced vaginal dryness can be related to different factors. These include : reduced estrogen levels, complication of douching, side effect of medication (allergy medications and some antidepressants), lack of foreplay.

Reduced estrogen levels occur as a result of: smoking , immune disorders, removal of the ovaries, anti estrogen medications.

Yasmin should not typically cause dryness but it has been reported in some persons.

If are not using any of the other medications that can cause this issue, then you may want to consider the use of a lubricant during intercourse.
You may also want to consider discontinuing yasmin and using an alternative contraceptive to see if this has any effect.

I hope this helps
