Having A Small Patch In The Forearm Between Elbow And Wrist. Hurts When Touched. Can Feel A Small Lump Too. Cause And Treatment?
Hi, I have a small patch, about 2cm long of skin on my arm, which is 1/3 between my elbow and wrist that is very painful. It generally aches a bit, but to touch it is very sensitive and painful. There doesn't appear to be any bruising, and I don't recall hitting it in any way. I think I can feel a small say 1.5 cm narrow lump or raised something under the skin.
From the description of the skin lesion that you have developed, it looks like you have developed a lesion of insect bite or Vector dermatitis. It is a peculiar, irritant contact dermatitis characterized by a sudden onset of red lesions on exposed areas of the body. The disease is provoked by an insect belonging to the genus Paederus. Now you need to apply an antibiotic/steroid combination cream over the lesion twice a day. Take oral antihistamine like levocetrizine once a day to decrease the swelling.
Do not use any moisturizer till the time the lesion heals . Sometimes oral steroids or antibiotics are needed if the lesion increases in size or persists.
