A very bad cough started, And noticed that I couldnt start taking breath easily. for example when I go up one storey. I could notice that theres something bad with my breath. On the side effects I found that while take clarinase It can cause coughing, dizzyness, and narrowing of air pipes. What probility it will be? my asthma was triggered or just a sideefect,

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
I advice you to stop any antihistamine like clarinase in asthma. This may help you for sinusitis in reducing the secretion but in asthma it dry up the bronchial secretion and can cause more problem. You can take montelukast (Singulair 10 mg OD) which will help in both asthma and sinusitis. Do steam inhalation 3 times a day. Since you are developing sinus pain take acetaminophen for pain and to prevent inflammation and you may require antibiotic. This will help you.
Hope I answered your question. Consult your doctor for further examination and management. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. The side effects of laratadine ( clarinase) are dry mouth, fatigue , nausea, headache. It interact with ketoconazole & erythromycin. As clarinase is an antihistamine type drug ,it never develops narrowing of air pipe , this is a misconception. It never trigger asthmatic attacks rather helps. As you know very well that asthma is congestion of chest and bronchoconstriction causes breathlessness and same thing happened with you. It was mere coincidence that you took clarinase and there develops ( triggered ) asthmatic attack ( precipitate). Consult your treating physician and get treatment for asthma and sinusitis. Pain on the left side was due to sinusitis so take most potent antibiotics for this ( I like levofloxacin 750 mg / in the night) . For this get opinion of your doctor. Good luck. Dr. HET
these are all allergies sinusitis cant be treated as lik this if you have sinus pain it means it is infected sinus and lot f mucus in the sinuses leading to pain the decongestents causes drying of secretions even the secretions dries in lungs causing cough and it exagerates the asthma bad smell is due to infection in sinuses use metronidazole 200 mg bd to clear infection in sinuses anti allergic montelucast 10 mg bd anti allergic and bronchodilator cough syp to decrease mucus secretions and cough apply neomycin h ointment in nose bd sea water 2 drps at night each nose to cler blocked secretions continue 2 wk analgesic sos for pain get xray pnswaters view and treat according to allergy guidelines by consulting ent or allergy specialist
