Having Back Pains On Left Side Near Rib Cage, Have Systemic Lupus, Diabetes, Asthma. Treatment?
I am having back pains on the left side near my rib cage . When I lean to the left it feels like something inside is being squished and painful...I have systemic Lupus , diabetes, and Asthma . Some of the pain radiated toward the shoulder. I have been on the heating pad all day...When I ask friends, the response is maybe a pulled muscle, maybe kidneys, maybe Pancreas, maybe your lung. Is there any thing you can advise? Please disregard my request. I am living on limited income. Thank you anyway...
If your pain is on the outer aspect of your back and worse on particular movement like you are describing then it is possible that it is muscular pain.
This means that it may be related to the muscles on this aspect of the back.
Pain related to the kidneys would normally be accompanied with other symptoms of kidney disease such as change in the colour or odour of the urine, blood in the urine, swelling, decreased urine production.
You can try using a pain medications such as paracetamol to see if it helps with the pain. The use of a warm compress may also help.
I hope this helps
