Having Bad Cough, Headache, Nose Bleeds. Lungs Clear. What Is This?
I have a very bad cough for over a week. I have such bad coughing fits that i get a headache and nosebleed. I have never been able to bring up catarrh so I have to make myself retch. On 2 occasions there has been fresh blood in the catarrh. a year ago I suffered with the same thing but no blood. That lasted 8 weeks and in the end although my lungs were apparently clear I was given antibiotics.
a dry irritating cough is commone after any infection and also if the cough is severe you may have headache and nose bleeds. The nose bleed may be due to the underlying infection or just a strain as the nasal mucosa is very sensitive. Nevertheless in the scenario of such sever cough you need to get yourself evaluated further, check out the following 1. Get a complete blood examination including coagulation profile to be on the safer side 2. Get an ENT to recommend you an endoscopic examination and / or CT of the sinuses
take lots of warm fluid, do not strain when you speak and do not meddle or pick your nose
get well soon
