Having Big Varicose Vein, Bruised, Hurts, Swollen 2 Diameter Area. What To Do?
I hit my leg while moving right at the spot where I have a big varicose vein . It hurt, swelled up with a 2 diameter area, (felt like a piece of cooked chicken instead of my typically soft leg) and bruised up pretty bad. I elevated it, iced it, and have continued to keep it wrapped w/ Ace bandage , which helps. 3 days later, it still hurts, even when wrapped. What to do, if anything?
The use of elevation, icing and compression via a bandage is recommended and should be continued. In addition , you may want to the use of anti inflammatory pain medication which may help ease your discomfort.
This would include medication such as cataflam/ibuprofen/voltaren/celebrex, these should all be taken on a full stomach.
If you continue this for another 1 to 2 days and still have significant problems then it may be to visit your GP for an assessment.
I hope this helps
