Having C Diff. Was On Flagyl, Completed The Course But After Three Weeks C Diff Symptoms Recurred Again. Treatment?

Hi I was in the hospital three weeks ago and was told I had C. difficile and my test came back that it was that I'm 27 and they said I think I got it from being on a previous antibiotic in march. I was prescribed the flagyl for the c diff to take for 10 days I finished them last Thursday and had a follow up with my doctor and they said to wait one to three weeks to see if the medicine took effect . Well it's been exactly a week since I've finished my c diff meds and I have my symptoms back again and waiting in the hospital to see if they will prescribe me meds again. My question is will I ever get rid of c diff or is it gonna keep coming back after I get off the meds. I have a two year old at home

Thanks for the query.

The drug of choice for C diff is clindamycin.

Although even flagyl is effective,

but chances of recurrence are higher with that.

Please meet a physician and discuss regarding start of clindamycin.
