Having Chapped Lips. Used Carmex And Lip Balms. Corners Turned Black And Spreading. What Can This Be?

My lips were chapped. Then I noticed the left corner turned black. For about a month now, I have treated it with carmex and ither lip balms . It seems that the color is spreading along the bottom lip line. It now is coming from both corners and has almost met in the middle. Sometimes it stings if I suck my lips. What can this be?

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Chapped lips indicates nutritional deficiency mainly vit C and B12, Discoloured lips can be due to post hypopigmented inflammation it can be due to hormonal changes or most probably can be due to new skin growing underneath the damaged chapped lips.
I would suggest you to start with vitamin suplements also keep your lips moisturised by applying vaseline or glycerine.

Hope this helps out.

Regards...
