Having Clots In Lungs, Is It Safe To Fly?

Diagnosed 3/1 PE several small clots in lower right lung. Been on 5ml coumarin and 100ml enoxaparin 2x per day since then. Test today 3/6 INR still at 1.1 doc increased my coumadin to 7.5 and retest next week. Controlled hypertension but no bp meds since3/1 and bp has been normal. 40mg pravastatin for cholesterol. Internet research mentions things like fainting due to plane pressure and even death! How safe is it to fly? What things can happen during flight other than more clots from not moving around because I plan to walk a lot on the plane if they let me?

Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should first achieve your target INR which is between 2 & 3. It is must for pulmonary embolism patient to stay with INR 2-3. This will decrease there chances of further embolism and also decrease chances of thronbus elsewhere in the body. And yes you are right ,travel in plane increase chances of clotting especially in deep veins of legs. So it is advisable to walk in plane. And my opinion is first achieve target INR and than travel.
