Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

From the details produced its clear that you are c/o recurrent Aphthous ulcers.

I would advice you to apply topical steroid at the affected area.

If the ulcers are aggressive, oral corticosteroids has to be administered.

Maintain oral hygiene well.

Avoid spicy foods.

Smoking as well as tobacco chewing has to be avoided.

Plenty of fluids as well as nutritious diet has to be administered.

Avoid anxiety and stress.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to HCM. It is difficult to predict the nature of an oral ulcer by only reading history and without clinically observing it. But the frequency and the pattern of occurrence suggesting that it could be an incident of recurrent Apthus ulcer. The causative factor of this ulcer is unknown and there is no definite medicines are suggested to treat this ailment. Supportive treatment is given. You can try 1) Doxycycline ( dissolve content of 100 mg capsule in 10 ml of water and wash mouth for 2 minute 3 times a day) mouthwash and 2) Dissolve 0.5 mg betamithasone tablet in 10/15 ml of water and wash for 2 minutes 3 to 4 times a day, DO NOT DRINK. It may reduce intensity and duration but not the frequency. Use lignocaine 5% ointment over the ulcers to reduce pain while eating. Control oral irritating factors like smoking and drinking. AVOID USING TOOTHPASTE WHICH CONTAINS SLS ( SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE - a foaming agent). Recently avoiding SLS is advocated for Apthus ulcer management. It may reduce incidence of occurrence. In India it is difficult to get such toothpaste. Some medicated toothpaste like Sensodyne or some herbal toothpaste like Neem from Himalaya does not contain SLS. Check it before buying and try it.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum,

According to your clinical symptoms i suppose that you have developed recurrent aphthous ulcerations.
Application of topical steroids over the affected areas will be beneficial.
If not helpful, systemic steroids can be used.
Take multivitamin suplements.
Take complete balanced diet, drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated.
Avoid anxiety and stress.
Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.

Hope you find this as helpful,

Regards.

Hi

Thanks for writing in.

You are having aphthous ulcers & there can be many causes for it:-
-Gastric problem
-hormonal disturbance
-sharp cusp of tooth or faulty restoration
-stress or anxiety
-vitamin deficiency

You need to apply dologel to that area 2-3 times a day.
You can also do tetracycline mouthwash along with it.
Continue multivitamin along with medicines.
Avoid spicy food.

Regards
