Hi. I am currently 14 years old, and I am a girl. I started my menstrual cycle when I was 12, and I had it normal for a while, and then all of a sudden it started to skip every four months. It has done this twice now. My last cycle was in late July, and the time before that was either in March or April, I'm sorry but I cannot remember. I have never had sex in my life, so there is no way that I'm pregnant. What is wrong with me?
Hi, It is normal at this age for the cycles to get erratic for a while before they finally settle down to a regular cyclical rhythm. It is due to the irregular hormonal pattern and you need not worry about being pregnant if you have never had any form of sexual contact. You can see a gynecologist or an endocrinologist for a hormonal assay and any further treatment if needed. Please maintain a healthy weight, eat a well-balanced diet and do some regular exercise like skipping or cycling. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
