Having Itchy Scalp. Using Anti Dandruff Shampoo. Noticed Red Patches. Suggest?

Hello doc,
Recently I went travelling abroad, after a day or so of being in said country my scalp got itchy.Anyway fast forward 2 weeks and I'm home,my head breaks out into severe dandruff and I shed a little hair. After 2-3 week of using anti dandruff shampoo, flaking reduces but now whenever my hair is touched or brushed with my fingers there is pain. After asking my friends and family to inspect my scalp they said there were 'red patches' in the area that hurt.I'm also still losing hair whenever I Brush my fingers through it?
Thanks for your time

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, it appears that there is some infection in the scalp, may be bacterial over the dandruff. I advise you to consult a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have culture and sensitivity of the discharge from the scalp, as it may be a nosocomial infection. Thank you.
