Hello,

I can understand your concern. What you are experiencing as a bump might be a swollen lymph node in the area. Lymph nodes are normal vessels in body that drain harmful substances from the area they are in. The swollen lymph node that you have drains ear, TMJ and neck area.

Do not try to pop it as it will not cause any relief but my damage it more. The swelling you have is because you might be having infection in the area concerned, i.e. ear, TMJ or neck. Chances are more that the focus of infection is in the ear.

Thus, I would advise you to visit an ENT specialist for the examination of ear and neck for presence of any infection. You might need to take antibiotics if infection is present. If the ENT specialist clears you of any infection in the ear or neck area, then you should see a dentist for diagnosis of infection in the TMJ area.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
