Having Noticed Small Calcification In Left Side Of Chest

I am a 37 yrs old male at 6.1 height. as a randomly taken X ray of chest, the report said small calcification noticed in left hiller. I showed it to a doctor and explained, he says nothing to worry but cut on cigarettes ( since then I have cut smoking by as much as 98%. Please advise when would this calcification go?

I can understand your situation and problem.
You are having calcified mediastinal lymphnode.
It is common in smokers.
This suggest old, healed inflammatory process.
Smokers are known to have chronic inflammation in lungs due to smoke.
This leads to inflammatory enlargement of mediastinal lymphnodes.
After certain time, healing take place by its own and nodes become calcified.
This appear as calcified spot on chest x ray.
This will remain as it is through out your life.
And no treatment is required for this because it is old scar, inactive tissue.
Smoking cessation should be done as soon as possible.
