Having Pain In Ear, Heard Loud Pop. Should Go For Medical Check Up?

hello..i m researching for mom.. she is in much pain in her right ear. she was just sitting up, and all of a sudden, she heard a loud pop...ever since, it s been hurting her very badly. she s thinkin about going to the er, but she s trying to see if it will pass.. she cant lay down, she has to sleep sitting up..do u have any suggestions as to what may be going on? and should i take her to the er in case it gets worse for her?

With the information provided it is not possible to say what is the reason for her symptoms. Examination is a must in arriving at a diagnosis.
So please consult an ENT specialist at the earliest.
Till that time you can give her some pain killer
