Having Recurring Sickly Headaches, Occasional Stiffness In Neck, Forgetting Things, Had Head Injury. Worried?

Hi. I am 49 years of age, 11 stone and 5 feet 9 inches. I have been having recurring sickly headaches, occasional stiffness in the left side of my neck and i am starting to forget things and i am worried something is wrong. My Uncle passed away last year with Alzhiemers and i am worried it may be the start of it. I have recently read that injury to the head can cause problems in later life. I was married to a violent man 15 years ago and often got punched on my head very hard and suffered from violent headaches, could this be a factor to my problems now. Do you think i should seek medical advice from my doctor and tell her my history of abuse and should i ask for a CT Scan . Please help me with this matter. Many thanks for your advice.

In a patient with history of repeated head trauma in past, positive family history of Alzheimer's and symptoms like recurring severe headache, episodic headache slowly increasing in severity and frequency, headache associated with neck stiffness and forgetfulness, he or she should be evaluated further in my view.

Yes, you should consult your doctor about it who on the basis of neurological examination can recommend you a CT scan or MRI to rule out any organic cause for these severe recurring headaches.
