By your query I came to knew that your sister in law is having ear discharge with pain behind the ear. This clinical history favors for these possibilities-
middle ear infections are the cause they cause these signs add antibiotics tds along with pain kilers and antiallergics you are taking already apply anti inflamatory ointments over mastoid and external auditory canal use neomycin ear drops to dry the discharge

Having Severe Pain Behind Ear Over Mastoid. Minimal Thick Ear Discharge. Prescribed Voveron Tramadol And Phenargen. Suggestions?
Hello Welcome in H.C.M. By your query I came to knew that your sister in law is having ear discharge with pain behind the ear. This clinical history favors for these possibilities- 1- csom with mastoiditis. 2- otitis externa with post aural cellulitis. To confirm the diagnosis and for management you should do- 1- C.T.scan of ear (HRCT). 2- culture and sensitivity of discharging pus. 3- Audiometry. By above investigations and examination one may reach to a final diagnosis. Regards.
