Having Sex For A Long Time, Now Vagina Broke Out In Blisters. Could It Be Herpes?

Hi. My boyfriend and I have been having sex for the last year. Although, we haven't been together that long. We've been together about 5 months out of that year. We were friends with benefits, I guess yoy could say. We stopped having sex for a while because I started dating someone. My boyfriend andI got together in jJanuary. The last time we had sex was a week ago, and about 3 days later, my vagina broke out in blisters. I'm wondering if this could be herpes or a bacterial infection due to too much moisture or switching from anal to vaginal. Theae blisters hurt but that do not itch. If it is herpes, is it possible I've had it for a while and I'm just now showing symptoms?

Hello and welcome to HCM,

The symptoms of vesicles in the vagina and other parts of the genital tract are most probably due to viral infections. Herpes simplex is the most common viral sexually transmitted infection.
You need to abstain from intercourse till the time the symptoms resolve.
You need to consult a gynecologist for clinical examination and relevant investigations.
If the vesicles turn out to be due to herpes simplex infection, treatment will anti-virals is required.
Abstinance and treatment of the partner is also needed.

Thanks and take care
