hello and welcome to health care magic,
I am Dr Sriram nathan an ENT surgeon and i shall try to help you out with your problem.
At the offset although it will most probably be just a nasal discharge due to
sinusitis or
rhinitis it pays to be safe. You may consider these:
1. Take a course of anti biotics like amox-clav and an anti
histamine like levocetrizine. Your doctor will know about these.
2. If the water is salty then you have nothing to worry about but if it is clear watery discharge which comes spontaneously without provocation then you must rule out a condition called the CSF leak. For this you must do these:
-collect the fluid and send it for CSF analysis and sugar levels examination and get back to me or any ENT with the report
-get an contrast CT of the
sinuses and get back to me with the report
3. If the discharge is controlled then fine otherwise you must get a CT PNS and get back to me with the report
4. Do steam inhalation with menthol
5. Do not strain
6. Take only warm fluids and food
hope you get well soon and hope this helps
regards
Dr Sriram nathan
