Today I got hit in the side of the face by a basketball so hard it knocked my contact out of my eye. I didn t feel reallt bad at first but 5 mins after I got a really sharp headache and tasted blood in my mouth. When I came home from school I felt very tired and fell asleep for about an hour. When I woke up I had a nauseous feeling and another headache.

Let me tell you that the severity of brain injury in patients with head and facial trauma depends upon the presence or absence of certain symptoms. These symptoms are vomiting, loss of consciousness, bleeding from mouth, nose, ear, weakness of hands, legs, convulsion etc.
You need an urgent medical evaluation where a physician will examine you and will determine the presence of any local injury as well as the presence of neurological deficits. This will in turn guide us regarding the need of a scan involving your brain and facial bones too. If the evaluation of physician rules out any major problem, and CT scan rules out any brain injury, fracture; you will benefit with simple analgesics only
My sincere advice will be to get examined in a local hospital without assuming anything
Hope this helps
