Headache, Vomitting, Dizziness, Profuse Sweating. Blood In Vomit. What Could It Be?
My boyfriend came home with a headache last night. This morning he woke up and said the room was spinning and he vomited and started seating profusely. There was a little bit of blood in his vomit. He fell back asleep and when he woke up he vomited/ started sweating again. there was no blood, it was just clear/yellow. He s been sleeping all day and he just woke up and is still dizzy ad sweating? He said he has never felt like this before. Do you know what is wrong with him and do I need to take him into urgent care?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. As ,you mentioned that only vomiting was there with blood in first vomit. Profuse sweating and dizziness are due to after effects of vomiting ,but may be also due to loss of excessive fluid ( due to vomiting) and toxins liberated by causative organisms ( food poisoning or irritant drinks or food before vomiting). If vomiting stop then need not to worry , plenty of fluid ( juice , salt+ sugar added water )will help. Mind it give very less amount of fluid in a single time , frequent fluid intake will cure him after 5-6 hours. If vomiting didn't stopped then take him in E R and get treatment . Lemon juice with salt also helps. Good luck. Dr. HET
