Headaches, Nausea, Stomach Ache, Stringy Substance In Urine, Exhaustion. Taking Ciprofloxacin. Is It A Stomach Bug?
Hi, I am currently in Nepal. For the past five days I have been experiencing headaches, some nausea, stomach ache (all on and off) and have found white stringy floaties in my urine. I am also easily exhausted during this time. No diarrhea though. Eating plain food and drinking nothing but bottled water but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Is it likely to be a stomach bug? I can buy antibiotics over the counter here, such as Ciprofloxacin. Not sure whether they will help though.
After reading your post, it seems that your symptoms are due to Urinary Tract Infection(UTI).
You should drink lots of pure water.
Avoid urinating in unhygeinic toilets.
I would suggest that you should go for following investigations :-
1. Complete Blood Count(CBC).
2. Kidney Function Test.
3. Urine examination (Routine/Microscopic and Culture/Senstivty).
Also get yourself clinically examined by a doctor.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
