For the last several years I ve noticed a weird skipped beat with my heart. It makes me feel the urge to cough. It varies when it happens. Some times once a day, some times once a week, some times 4x a day. I understand that this cough sort of re-sets my heart rhythm, however I m wondering if this is normal or anything to worry about? I ve already seen my family doctor about it, he s done EKGs, I ve been to the ER room before with chest pain (that turned out to be skeletal muscle related) and about 8 years ago I ve had a sonogram done on my heart and everything, it was all normal. However I ve noticed an increase in this skipped beat with urge to cough feeling....especially during times of high stress. I know that you can have palpitations during stress, but is it normal to feel an INCREASE in their frequency during times of stress? Any one have some valid info.? I do think I have a problem with anxiety, and of course having these palpitations makes it even worse.
