Heavy Bleeding After Cyst Removal. Can Fibroids Cause Bleeding?
Hi my gyn Dr. Has me taking Trigestrel to stop the bleeding. Ive been bleeding for 3months, i had a sonogram done n I was told I have another cyst and a fibroid. I had surgery for a cyst removed in may 2013. Im scared ive been bleeding heavy since October. Is this normal? Can the bleeding be caused by the fibroid?
The bleeding may be caused by the fibroid. Other causes may be hormonal imbalances, recurrence of cyst or cervical polyps [ less likely as the bleeding is heavy].
Please get an ultrasound done and a hormonal evaluation. Treatment will then follow the cause.
You may use mefenamic acid tablets while awaiting the reports after investigations to help control the bleeding. If the bleeding is very severe, progestogens or estrogen progestogens may be needed after consulting your doctor. Hope this satisfies your query. Thanks for using HCM.
