Heavy Bleeding During Periods After 7 Years. Ultrasound Showed Thin Inner Uterus Line. On Medroxyprogesteron. Painful Sex. Help

from last about 7 years i had no periods because during perimenopause they put me on birth control pills. After seven years i started spotting las week and heavy bleeding. I went to see my OBGY and he did pap smear and ultrsound. we dont have result for pap yer. from ultrasound he said inner line in uterus is too thin so it does not make any sense to do D&C. bleeding is very heavy from last two days so i am on MEDROXYPROGESTERON /10 mg per pill and six pill until I stop bleeding . from past 2 days i am taking 6 pills per day and bleeding is less. I had no sex from past over two year because it is very painful and i have no interest. i am very worried that i will die. i am 52 year old.i have two kids . one is 21 and one is 15. both were c section because i am very small . i weight 121/lh and 5.3 inch height.

Hello
Thanks for your query.
You might be having endometritis or DUB.
This is dysfunctional uterine bleeding , also called AUB ( abnormal uterine bleeding ).
This is common during menopause and perimenopause, and due to hormonal imbalance, bleeding might be prolonged and erratic.
As the lining is too thin, do not worry about hyperplasia.
continue taking the medications as prescribed, and then you can start cyclical hormone therapy for 3 - 6 months to regulate bleeding.
All the best.
take care.
