Held A Sneeze And Area Behind Adams Apple Was In Intense Pain. Throats Hurt When Sneezing. Advise?

Last night i held in a sneeze, and immediately afterwards my throat, the area behind my Adams apple, was in intense pain stabbing pain, and still is. When i touch the front of my throat it hurts, when i yawn it hurts, and I also when i sneeze. Doesn't really bither me that much when i eat/drink/swallow anything. What could be the cause of this?
