Hello, I am 68, have a hiatal hernia, which has recently been diagnosed with an endoscopy and I have irritable bowel. I take Miralax nightly, adjusting the dose according to whether or not I have had a satisfactory bowl movement.
I have also been taking Omneprezole for a little over a month, prescribed by my gastroenterologist for the hiatal hernia.
In that time, my bowels have changed in that I have 3-5 small movements each day, sometimes up to 3 in one hour, each being long pinky-fingered sized. I also have continuous extremely offensive gas, which I cannot control.
Can the Omneprezole be the cause of the gas and the type of bowel movement I am having? I have no pain and often when I think it is gas, it is more movement.
Thank you for your comments.
