Hepatitis C Active. Legs Swollen, Shakey. Using Heroin. Hope?

Hi my dad has hep c....active and corroris level 4......his legs are swolling and tummy and his sack!! He is very yellow and is cold all the time.....and very shakey......for the past 2 weeks his legs and tummy has been seeping.....Iv tryed get him to hospital but he just walks out.......he is still drinkin....and using herion......can u please tell me what I'm looking at next?? And how long have i got my dad for?? Do u think there's still hope

Sorry to hear about your dad. Stage 4 cirrhosis is a delicate condition and he is causing further deterioration by consuming alcohol and heroin. Fluid in abdomen and scrotum are indicative of moderate ascites. Being yellow and cold shows liver dysfunction. Having hepatitis C is causing faster deterioration in liver function.

Though it is difficult to speak about any eventuality right now, your father is going through a very difficult phase. Liver decompensation has set in and in situations like this the patient can be expected to live a few years (1 to 3) but his quality of life comes down and may require frequent compulsory hospitalisation to keep them going.
