Hereditary high blood pressure - Can it be lowered without meds? He s in his 40s but has had it since his 30s. He already does everything right. He eats a lot of fruits vegetables every day, only eats healthy, home cooked meals low in fat, and salt is never used when cooking. He doesn t drink tea, coffee, or soda. He may be 5-10 lbs over his ideal weight according to online calculators, but he doesn t look fat or chubby and he had high b/p before he gained this extra weight. He doesn t exercise, but he is pretty active. He doesn t really get stressed out too much. His bp is in the 140s but he doesn t like taking his meds. Sometimes if he is stressed his bp will go high and he ll take a pill. I don t know if he is making the right decision. should someone like him whose bp goes 140-150 be taking regular meds? What else can be done to help him?
