Herpes Like Lesions Inside Mouth, High Fever, Swollen Lymph Glands. On Antivirus Medicines. Suggestions?

I have herpes like lesions all over the inside of my mouth, including tongue, gums, inside of cheek....never had herpes before and the tests have not come back yet. Had fever up to 102 two days ago and have swollen lymph glands (extremely). On an antivirus med with the assumption it is Herpes. I am in a lot of pain, can't eat anything without pain. My mouth is a mass of painful sores. I have a couple on the outside of my lips, but mostly all internal. I am normally super healthy, 48 year-old woman. This illness has me in tears and totally scared. Thoughts?

I understand your feelings as herpes lesions can be very painful. Please continue your anti viral therapy and wait for the reports. Herpes infection can occur in any normal person. This virus has the property of remaining dormant in the body and getting reactivated by triggers like any illness, fever, exposure to extreme conditions of heat and cold and stressful conditions. I suggest a fluid diet preferably non spicy. These sores will heal within 7 days. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Thanks.
