Hi About An Hour Ago My 5 Year Old Son

About an hour ago My 5 year old son has just been to the bathroom and he called me to wipe but he had already flushed the toilet when i went in.
He said his poo looked like jam
And when i wiped him there was like stringy mucus there.
He said he needed to go again and could not get more out but i wiped him again and again there was more stringy mucus.
He said he has a pain in his lower tummy region but he has since fell asleep so im pretty sure its not too bad.
Any idea what this could be?
