Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am 1.5 months out from jumping off off Suboxone. I am still taking Adderall for moderate lethargy and am experiencing continued insomnia...first attributed to the Suboxone taper and now the use of amphetamine salts.
I was prescribed Clonidine and Baclofen when making my jump from the Suboxone (at two different times in hopes that one would be a useful comfort measure. I have not used either any more than a few times. My question is regarding the Baclofen. I am experiencing moderate leg/foot cramps every night at this point (versus sporadically while tapering the Suboxone) and when I am finally able to fall asleep during the wee hours of the morning (around 4:00 am most nights due to continued insomnia) the cramps wake me shortly thereafter and I must walk around for 10 minutes or so to combat them. I'm wondering if it is feasible to take the Baclofen at night only despite the dosing instructions for TID. I'm hoping it would eliminate the leg cramps and possibly help me to sleep as well.
Also, in regards to the use of Adderall (20 mg BID with the occasional addition of 5mg for approximately 3to 4 months now), could this be causing headaches which develop towards morning? They are generally in the back of my head and neck and I originally attributed them to high levels of stress and lack of sleep.
Thank you in advance for your professional advice. I am visiting with my prescribing physician next week but he is extremely liberal in writing scripts and offers very little continued support or input.
