Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am a 57 year old male. I am not a tobacco user. For the last 2 years it seems to be difficult swallowing at times. Sometimes in mid sentence I also go hoarse feeling like I need to clear my throat. I have had a scope with no successful results. My doctor noticed a lump under my jaw about 1 year ago. The last three months the swallowing has become worse. I now feel like I am choking when I breathe. I noticed a large hard ring around my trachea below the adams apple. This ring seems to go all the way around my windpipe and is about 1-2" wide. If my chin is tilted down I feel like someone has their thumb in my windpipe and I get light headed. If I tilt my head back then it eases my choking sensation. Do you have any idea what this problem could be? I live in Provo, UT
