Hi, I Am A 63 Year Old Female And Have

Hi,
I am a 63 year old female and have been told I possibly have a perforated eardrum which occurred on a recent flight on holiday. I saw a pharmacist whilst away as was experiencing hearing loss, an uncomfortable ear and blood on my pillowcase after sleeping. He prescribed ear drops. On return from holiday, I then attended a walk in centre, told to immediately stop using ear drops and was given antibiotics and told to visit my GP this week to get my middle ear checked for confirmation that my ear was perforated. I saw a locum at my GP surgery today who was unable to check my middle ear but said my ear had debris and dry blood in and to put warm olive oil drops in and to go back if symptoms persist. On reflection, I am unsure whether I should be using olive oil. Can you assist me? Thank you
