Hi, I am an athletic 61 year old. I cycle, walk, hike, yoga and eat well. In the morning my blood pressure is around 117/73 but by the afternoon it can be as high as 135/79. One of my doctors wants to put me on a blood pressure medicine because when I go into the office for an appointment it can be as high as 144/80 (white coat syndrome?) Bottom numbers are not bad but top numbers are. If by blood pressure is good in the morning but not so much in the afternoon should I go on medicine?
Thank you,
Liza
