Hi, I Have Been Taking Hydrocodone/norco 10mg For The Past

Hi, I have been taking hydrocodone/norco 10mg for the past 6 years 3-4 daily. I also wear a fentanyl patch 50mg. Back issues - spinal cord stimulator and RSD. I have been under the care of pain mgt dr. He has decided that he is no longer going to write hydrocodone to any of his patients. He has been reducing my pills like this.... From 4 a day for 30 days, to 3 a day for 30 days to 2 a day for 30 days. And then when I no longer have any he is going to increase the fentanyl patch by 25-50 mg. Says hydrocodone is for acute pain not chronic pain. I said pain is pain. I'm concerned about increasing the fentanyl???? I mean is that the lessor of two evils?
