Hi, I Have Been Taking The Birth Control Pill “Yaz”

Hi, I have been taking the birth control pill “Yaz” for one week now after being off hormonal birth control for almost 2 years, I started taking it on the first day of my period as recommended by my doctor, my periods normally last 4 days however I am still bleeding/ spotting now which is almost 8 days after starting to take it. I know that spotting while your body adjusts can be normal however I began taking it to minimise my periods as I find them painful and unpleasant. Im hoping to not have any spotting or bleeding in a few days as I have to do things that require not having any bleeding so I’m wondering if there’s any way I can reduce the risk of continued bleeding or spotting, like by stopping taking the pill over the next few days is it likely that the spotting will stop or will I get a period again? Thank you
