Hi. I Would Like To Know If What I Have

Hi. I would like to know if what I have is a symptom of something. Does it have a name? Is it common?

I cannot tolerate other people's noise. It makes me very irritable and anxious. I wish my sense of hearing had an on/off switch. Not even earplugs are enough. My own noice does not irritate me (like if I'm typing or listening to music), but other people being noisy around me completely absorb all of my attention, I become focused on them and cannot do anything - can't read, study, sleep, work. It makes me angry. I have been like this for many years, but on some days it gets a lot worse. It hurts. It's like torture. And strangely, sometimes it seems like little noises (like overhearing people talking, TV on, fork and knife on a plate) hurt more than loud noises. If I turn on my favorite music in my room to try and "shield" me from outside noises, that does NOT hurt me (however I would prefer silence).

I cannot stress enough how much noises hurt me. You may think I'm exagerating, but I'm not. It is just painful... makes be breathe in relief when the people I live with leave the house and makes my stomach hurt everytime they arrive, just because I know what that means: it means noise and disharmony will start again.

Is there a treatment for this?? I wish I could know everything about this, maybe there is a cure?

Thanks.
