Hi My Mother Did Sonography On 8/8/2015 And Reports Was

Hi my mother did sonography on 8/8/2015 and reports was showing that Impression -mild hepatomegaly with mild changs.
Suggest- clinical correlation to rule out gastric.
After a month my mothers condition became worst as her HB was 5.
Again we did all reports & again we did sonography for abdomen & pelvis on 11/9/2015 and reports was showing that
Conclusion-
1. Fatty lever
2. Bilateral echogenic kidneys (suggestive of renal medical disease.
3.kindly corelate with renal function test.
From above reports doctor told us that her kidneys are fail & they suggested to put my mother on dialysis.
So can you help me know that whether its her liver problem or kidney problem bcoz as per her reports taken on 8/8/2015 her both the kidneys were normal.
