Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been prescribed omeprazole 20mg for a potential not yet officially diagnosed silent reflux by my gp, the reason for this was due to weeks of having a lump sensation in my throat and feeling like my voice was strained when I spoke, the lump sensation was only apparent when I talked. This was combined with a symtom that came on more recently of a constant clearing of my throat it felt like a constant production of mucus that would not clear . This lead to the suggestion of silent reflux as I do burp a lot. I am on Day 2 of omeprazole and it seems to have shifted some of the mucus so it does seem like it could be silent reflux.. However I still have mucus stuck between my throat and the back of my nose. I am not sure how to get rid of this?
Also i do not have a blocked nose but I have symptoms of sinus pressure, head pressure, blocked ears and even my face getting warm on left side.
Could you advise what could be causing this?
I've read up on sinus irrigation..should I try this and could I get this over the counter at a pharmacy?
Thank you
