High BP, Tiredness, Sleeplessness. What Seems Wrong?

Hi I am 55yrs old lost my mother just over 3 years and ago and lost my 35 yr old son xmas day 2012. I have always worked hard and extremely long hours whilst raising a family. My blood pressure has been monitored and told it is very high and I need to be careful

in the last two months I note by early afternoon I start to feel tired and if I dont keep myself busy I can find myself falling asleep from 6pm if I lay on the pillow only waking to use the bathroom some 5hrs later and able to go back to sleep until around 6am

what might be the problem?

Hello,
Thanks for writing your query to us.
You are being feeling tired & sleepy all the time that means you are not getting adequate sleep or your sleep is disturbed. Try to get a peaceful sleep of 7-8 hours duration.
Avoid tea, coffee in evenings.
Do some form of physical exercise. Try to keep yourself active & mobile. Be happy.
Do meditation that will help you feel relaxed & lower your blood pressure.
Decrease salt intake & take your blood pressure medicines regularly.
Follow all this measures & you will surely notice the difference.
Take care.

you have worked hard but if you are obese with wide neck you are suffering from ostructive sleep apnea with sever day time sleepiness
OR you are a patient of myasthenia/hypothyroidism with excessive lethargy at night and fresh at morning
OR you are taking high antihypertensive medicine which are causing low bp and getting you sleep
