High Cholesterol Levels Detected. Reduced Levels Only By Changing Lifestyle, Diet, Without Medication. Continue?

I am 53 years old , I am a shorty , around 1meter 60 ,my weight is around 54 kg , I am not diabetes , I tested my cholesterol 3 months ago , the results were total 275 , LDL 182 , triglycerides 155 and uric acid 7.3 , I decided to cure it without taking any medication , just by changing my lifestyle in respect of food and exercise , walking between 30 minutes and 1 hour almost everyday ... I retested my cholesterol last week and the results amazed me concerning cholesterol , total dropped to 187 , LDL to 102 , uric acide to 4.8 but triglycerides went up to 280 , I wonder why but in the same time I am determined not to take any medications , I think that substituting white rice to brown and to shift to whole wheat pasta can help reducing my triglycerides level ,,, after this long introduction , my question simply is : how long does it take for triglycerides to drop without taking any medication ,,, thank you for your time

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Fasting for full 14 hours is necessary for proper triglyceride estimation.

The level fluctuates continuously.
It is highly influenced by the last food, taken.
A low carbohydrate diet and weight reduction will help greatly.

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
This is good that you have started to take care of your diet and regular exercise,You can see result yourself, please do not do severe restrictions in diet, you can take help of dietitian, who will guide you about diet.
In general brown rice is good and whole grain is better as it contain more fibers.
Please take fresh fruits and green vegetables and dairy products like butter milk and curd are good in limited quantity.
I am sure you have so much detemination you must nit be smoking or drinking.
It is also important to test blood in fasting condition, please repeat test after 2 months.
Usually 3 months are required to see effects of life style changes.please note if TG is high and you are not having diabetes then there are drugs which can help to reduce TG specifically.
If you are non vegetarian please avoid red meat and take egg white, lean meat and fish.
It is good to take Omega 3 fatty acid in fish or supplements.
Please take care.
Best of Luck
