High Fasting Sugar Levels. A1C Is High Normal. What Does It Mean?
About 3 weeks ago I started using a just received 90 day perscription refill for Janumet 50/1000 2/day, that I have been taking for over a year. My upon arising Sugar went from 120 to above 145 and stayed there. I contacted CVS FEP mail order and they sent me a diferent lot replacement. It may have receded a bit from145 but not much. My "fasting" blood sugar had been 115-125 for over 5 years, and my A1C was high normal. What gives? I suppose type 1 has arrived.
Hello, Whenever a person is diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for the first time, more than 50% of his beta cells of pancreas are dead. These beta cells are responsible for production of insulin. As the time progresses more and more beta cells start getting damaged and a stage is reached when all the beta cells become dead. This is he stage when no oral anti diabetic medicine works and only injection insulin works in that stage. So it is not a case of arriving of diabetes type one. You must consult a diabetologist and get the prescription of medicines revised. There are plenty of good medicines available now, which can control your blood sugar levels. Along with medications, restrict your calorie intake and do regular aerobic exercises for 45 minutes a day. Remember that uncontrolled diabetes leads to various future micro as well as Macrovascular complications. Thanks
