History Of Chronic Bronchiectasis. Treatment For Respiratory Tract Infection. Have Yellow,green Phlegm, Fever. Medicament?

Good morning. My mom is 86 years old with history of cap1 btonchiectasis chronic..She is currently on her 4th day of augmenting treatment due to respiratory tract infection. I noticed that she is having thick productive yellosgreen phlegm and low grade fever. Denies any sob.do you think she requires a stronger antibiotic

Hello
I think she needs stronger antibiotic as augmentin doesnot cover gram negative bacteria and atypical bacteria.
i will advise you to consult physician and take his opinion.
You give sputum for culture and sensitivity testing and adjust antibiotics according on physician's advise.
