How Accurate Are The Home Pregnancy Tests?

The last time I had sex was May 7th. I am on a pill and I haven't had a period in two years. I am not having pregnancy symptoms but I psyche myself out a lot because the possibility is always on my mind. I know I am just making myself crazy. I have taken probably 10 tests and they have all been negative. The last test I took was 55 days after I had sex and it was with a first response test. Should I be able to trust the negative results?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Home pregnancy test detects(pregnancy hormone)chorionic onadotrophin in urine & confirms pregnancy.
You have total lack of periods while on contraceptive pills. Though it can be rarely seen in few ladies onoral pill, Most of the times, regular/irregular withdrawal bleeding is seen.
* You can believe the -ve home pregnancy test , for-
- It has been - ve for several times,
- false +ve is possible to error in sample collection/urine infection, bur false -ve is rare.
* Still I would suggest a USG lower abdomen ,to rule out other causes of absent menses like ,Fibroid uterus, PCOD.
Thanks.
