How Accurate Is HPT Result?

Hi. My menstrual cycles are always regular every 27days. Its delayed now for 3days. I took pregnancy test twice and it shows negative results. How accurate is it? If i work at night and sleeps in the morning, should I use my night urine as a sample to get more accurate results?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Urine pregnancy test (HPT) can be positive around eight days after ovulation which means a woman could get positive results several days before she expects her period to start.

A positive HPT result is almost certainly correct. A negative (not pregnant) result is less reliable.

If you still think you're pregnant after a negative result, wait a few days and try again on an evening urine sample.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
