How Accurate Is The Pregnancy Test Kit?

My wife has taken gynaset tablets for 5 days (1 tab. each day) to delay the period. After stopping dose she was expecting for periods heavily but she was getting 2-3 dops of blood only. Now its been 5 days late so we went to Doctor in afternoon and doctor has checked up pregnancy test through preganews kit. It is positive. So my question is the kit result is accurate? and we were not thinking about to get baby because we had unprotected sex only one time. Please advise what we should do ??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Pregnancy kit tests are having 99 % positive outcome predictability after ruling out false positive results. For confirmation of the kit results, I recommend a beta hCG level of blood and ultrasound of the pelvis to understand final reason and cure accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
